EXTERIOR
The LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 was shaped by Tim Heywood, who also created the AMELS 171.
Heywood describes the exterior of the LIMITED EDITIONS series as 'strong and athletic, yet feminine and sleek', qualities that appeal powerfully to men and women, and that represent Heywood's finest efforts at shaping a universally attractive vessel.
Much attention has been paid to create a luxury lifestyle for each client that can be enjoyed in satisfying architectural surroundings. For the enjoyment of outdoor living, dining, and lounging the sun deck features a hot tub, wet-feet bar, jet-stream pool, enclosed 'sky gym', and alfresco dining for 12.
The bridge level has an equally large afterdeck with dining for 12, adjoining the dramatic sky lounge.
Forward of the wheelhouse is a cozy breakfast nook with sun beds. The volume of the AMELS 212 also permits a 100-square-meter watersports store with room to stow several personal watercraft, diving gear, and two 8.5-meter tenders deployed through side-opening hatches.
INTERIOR
Andrew Winch is a known as the designer of many glorious power and sail yachts, most recently a contemporary AMELS 58-meter launched early in 2006.
He accepted AMELS' challenge of designing the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 interior to give it a character that perfectly complements Heywood's exterior.
Indeed, in designing for exclusive appeal to knowledgeable clients, Winch's philosophy dovetails ideally with Heywood's. As Winch expresses it: 'I design first what I think is beautiful, so that clients will respond to it. I want them to embrace what I have drawn, to feel excited by it, and to recognize instantly that they can live happily in the saloon or in the master suite just as I have created it'.
Like a high-fashion designer who knows generally what the market wants, but who does not yet know who his clients are, Winch designed the LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 212 with originality and dynamism, but above all to allow flexibility for each client. So, for example, you may choose from among a wide variety of interior woods and decorative details to create a custom home afloat of a highly personal character.
